Cars, MPVs and minibuses
Our fleet includes saloon cars, multi-purpose vehicles (MPVs) and minibuses. The right choice depends on the passengers travelling, the support they need and the equipment coming with them.
Saloon cars have 4 passenger seats and MPVs have 5. Our minibuses have 6 to 8 passenger seats, and some take 2 or 3 wheelchairs.
Most of our vehicles are Ford, Citroën, Mercedes, Renault, Skoda and Volkswagen models. Drivers check their vehicle every morning, and every vehicle is valeted once a week.
When discussing a route, tell us the number of seated passengers, wheelchair passengers and accompanying staff. We can then discuss the space and layout needed.
Wheelchair access
Most of our wheelchair-accessible vehicles have a manual ramp. The driver helps with boarding, together with the passenger assistant where one is assigned.
Wheelchair space can affect the number of other seats available. Speak to us about the wheelchair and any equipment so the layout and access can be checked for the particular vehicle.
Vehicle licensing
All our company vehicles are licensed by Wychavon Council. Drivers who use their own vehicles on our contracts may be licensed by Worcester, Redditch or Malvern councils.
Recognising your vehicle
Our vehicles do not carry Smart Group company branding. Families should use the vehicle and staff details supplied for their route. If anything is unclear, contact the transport team.
When passenger needs change
Let the transport team know before a different wheelchair or new equipment is brought on a journey. Changes may affect the space and access needed.
For a new school route, talk to us about seating and access. For an existing journey, call or WhatsApp the office on 01905 905 504.
